My mom and dad were here over the weekend, which was a lot of fun for me. :-D My mom has lost a lot of weight, I'm about 10% jealous but 110% proud of her, she's doing such a great job with Weight Watchers. I hope I can get motivated again to start it up myself, but it just seems like now is not the right time for me. Still, my 30# has stayed off and I'm pleased about that.
Both my parents fell in love with the Wii, and I fully expect that when I visit them at their new place in Maryland, I will have a tennis challenge on my hands. Watching them box against each other was hysterical, for the first part I kind of feared they would punch the television... for the latter part I thought they might try and knock each other out right there in my living room! They definitely surrendered to the joys of video gaming. Makes sense, I must have inherited it from SOMEONE...
My mom is an artist, and she took some awesome photos while she was here. I am shamelessly stealing them and putting them on my blog for your viewing enjoyment. :-)
We had Mike's birthday the day before yesterday, Kenny and I made him a vice basket full of alcohol and cigarettes. I wish I'd been smart enough to get a picture of it before it started getting taken apart, but alas... it was not meant to be. Each bottle (which varied from those big oversized bottles down to mini-bottles) had a bow tied on it, and Mike has vowed to drink each one with the bow still intact. Yay! I'm glad he liked the gift, I had a lot of fun making it, and Kenny was even more patient than usual as I looked at EVERYTHING in the liquor store about three times... I had to make sure I wasn't missing anything fabulous that Mike absolutely had to have.
My pharmacy is being remodeled this weekend, and as a result I will be working six days in a row starting tomorrow. Ewww! Overtime is nice, but no rest makes for a very grumpy me. At least I think it'll be fun, we're moving all the drugs into the office and we'll be operating from there. So; someone brings us a prescription... we input it in the system and then go to the office to find the medicine (all the drugs will be in boxes) and fill it. It'll be sort of like the pharmacy version of camping. I need to put fresh batteries in the camera so that I can capture all the fun that I'm sure Arun and I will be having. :-)
I need a shower, I am stinky... but first, photos!
Kenny downloaded all the pictures from the camera for me today. There's tons of stuff I'd still like to share besides what I'm uploading now, but scenes from my life should be taken in small doses. :-)
Here's me with my snazzy new haircut... it's much MUCH cuter when I've not been running around all day and sweating in the Florida heat. Still, it's short. There ya go.
I had a request for an *actual* picture of Captain Bighead. Here's a nice one of Wendy drooling over him from behind the confines of the glass door. Usually she's throwing herself at the door as soon as he's out, it was quite odd to have her holding still for once! If you're having trouble finding him... CB is in the middle of the photo and slightly up, right by the bag of corn. He's much more impressive in real life!
Paxil is also known for being a heavy sleeper. Shortly after Kenny got the following picture, Paxil actually slid off the couch and onto the floor... and then just continued to sleep in a heap on the floor. I wonder if he even woke up for it.
The ducks have learned that Xiao Wen gets fed every morning and night, and they eagerly await me so that they can steal her cat food. It's been especially hot lately, so today I put out some large bowls of water to keep the ducks hydrated... what's not to love about a duckling swimming in your mixing bowls? :-) Kenny pointed out that the ducks were also relieving themselves in our bowls, but I figure that's okay, the bowls are washable. Plus there's some really cute multicolored ones on sale at TJ Maxx and maybe this means I'll have to get new ones. :-) Here's the ducks running towards the bowl of water:
And here they are enjoying it:
I'm making a conscious effort to try and take more pictures of all the cuteness around me. I'm surrounding by adorable critters and I love it!
